Bob and I have been friends for 80 years. We both grew up in Dublin ,Ga and were in the same classroom from third grade through high school. He spent so much time visiting my house that my parents considered him to be their third son. In school we were considered to be nerds with absolutely no interest in sports or other extracurricular activities .Our interest were mostly focused on working .From age 10 much of our non classroom time was spent selling peanuts on the streets of Dublin and delivering newspapers in the morning and evening. While in high school Bob worked as a "printers devil" in the pressroom of our local paper. I saw him daily covered with ink stain from working on the press. After graduating from high school Bob maintained his strong work ethic and self funded most of his expense to attend college and dental school. After college Bob and I seldom saw each other because our occupations put us in a different city or country. Although I was often remiss in maintaining our friendship Bob was always faithful in ensuring it would not wither and die .Every year or so I would get a call from Bob leading to our getting together. This effort resulted in my following Bob by retiring to Spruce Creek South.
Bob was blessed to have you three daughters and his loving and talented wife Nancy. You made his life more joyful and his passing less painful. We love all of you and wish you the comfort of the Lord.

It was an honor and a pleasure serving with Bob at NAS Sigonella, Sicily. I feel fortunate to have known Bob, a generous and kind man, and being considered his friend.

I am so thankful for the opportunity I had to meet Uncle Bob and Aunt Nancy. When I went through a rough time in life, he and Nancy were very kind to me, and called to check on me. Uncle Bob, with great kindness, offered to help me with money should I need it. I did not need it. But the kind, selfless generosity he showed on that occasion, has always stood out in my mind.
He was a good man, and I am thankful to have known him.
