Obituary of Ruth Ellen Ford

Ruth Ellen Ford, 80, of Ocala Florida, passed away June 11, 2021.
Ruth was born to the late Joe and Lydia Cataldo, October 2, 1940 in
New York. She was married to Willard A. Ford Jr. May 22nd 1960.
The spouse of an Air Force veteran, Ruth lived abroad for many years, traveling the world.

Ruth loved to travel, she and Willard traveled throughout the U.S. on
motorcycle over their 61 years together. Ruth was the proverbial
navigator for Willard on their numerous rides. Ruth had an infectious
laugh that would often bring her to tears; you couldn’t help but laugh with her.

Ruth retired from a career as a civil servant with the U.S. Air Force.
Ruth was a loving and devoted wife, and mother. She is survived by
her husband of 61 years, Willard A. Ford Jr. of Ocala; her daughter
Denise Durham (John) of Sautee Nacoochee Ga., and son Wesley
Ford (Donna) of Eastwood N. C.; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren
and her brother Donald Cataldo. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sisters.

Ruth was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing
but beautiful memories. As her health declined, she maintained her joy, laughter and love of God.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services Timberridge Chapel. The burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. The family requests that people make donations in support of Alzheimer’s and Diabetes research, in lieu of flowers.
