I met Sean at Forest High School. We had several classes together and we became good friends. Sean was always such a consistently kind and friendly person. He was one of the few invited to my wedding, and he came! We lost touch after high school but caught back up with each other on Facebook and through messages. He was still the same funny, positive, intelligent, deep thinking, lifetime learner I had known all those years ago. He shared his deep love for his family and friends through stories the last couple of years with me. He told me of how much he enjoyed his walks, no matter how brief with his sweet Mom after his treatments. What a wonderful guy! I will greatly miss knowing he's not in this world, because it was such a better place with him in it. I know without any doubt, he is not too far ahead of each of us; waiting just around the curve; learning new things and that one day we will all catch up with Sean again. Thank you Sean for being what we all should strive to be. Grateful to have know you and called you my friend.

“Kuck” and I were stationed together in the military from 1982-1995. We were just kids really. Both in our 20s. We worked in the emergency room and worked we did. But I also have so many funny memories as well as hours and hours on the night shift together where we would share our deepest emotions and scars. KUCK was a quiet unassuming, hard worker, that never complained. He was loyal and gave his best. He and I kept in touch for many years, then had a time frame we drifted apart. But he hunted me down and it was like we never lost time. We talked frequently, video chatted often and shared our lives and experiences. He was a steadfast confidante, a life long friend. A treasure to me. I still can’t believe he’s gone. I keep thinking I’ll hear from him. But as kind as ever he introduced me to his Mom before his passing. Almost like he knew I would need the connection.
kuck, there will never be a kinder more giving man to walk this earth. I have been eternally blessed to have so many years to call you my friend.I will forever hold you in my heart. I know you’re in heaven.
Slow reverent salute my fallen airman. Rest In Peace those of us left behind will hold things down. I love you now and forever.

I went to Forest High with Sean, we kept in touch through Facebook, and his posts, words, and comments were always compassionate, kind, and sincere. He often posted thought-provoking and inspiring memes and posts. My daughter wrote a poem for a family friend who passed away, and I thought it quite appropriate to share some words back with Sean and his family that might mean as much as his words have meant to me. I pray these words bring some measure of comfort.
“Life’s Candle”
Life’s journey is like a candle
Burning brightly for a while
And its wick grows shorter
As we walk each measured mile
Too soon its glow has dimmed
As the mallow melts away
But behind it leaves a spark
That will never turn to gray
For our light shines in others
Through memories, words, and deeds
We carry them along our path
And pass them on like seeds
Then in the valley we go down
As the tears begin to flow
Our God makes the sun to shine
Watered seeds begin to grow
So in this way our light goes on
Even after the fire goes out
For our hearts will always remember
What their life was all about. ~ CGP2009
Prayers and blessings for the family,
Sara (Harrison) Pons
