Obituary of Richard A. Schaefer

Richard A. “Ric” Schaefer, 74, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021.

Ric was born in Mineola, NY to Arthur and Ruth Schaefer.  He served in the US Air Force during the Viet Nam war and he worked as a supervisor at the Marion County Clerk's Office. Ric was a member of the American Legion Post 0027.  He supported  Civitan Blood Banks and March of Dimes.  He loved trains and photography, hiking, and spending time with his family.

 

Ric is survived by his wife Sharon Schaefer, daughter Shelly Yeary and son in law Chad, grandchildren Leilana, Leland, Lokai, Leialoha, Leolani, and Lanikai, son Randy Micheletti, grandchildren Aanesera and Tobias, son Scott Schaefer, and

a brother Chuck Schaefer.

 

Friends may gather to pay their respects to his family on Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34471.

 

Mr. Schaefer will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with military honors on Monday, May 3^rd ,2021 at 2:00pm.
