Our prayers are with you during this time of loss. Doug was my CO on CGC Reliance in Kittery Maine where I served as his Engineer Officer. Doug was always very good to me a was a great mentor regarding becoming a better ship driver. I can honestly say he was on of the best ship drivers I ever had the pleasure of serving with. I wish you and your family all of God’s greatest blessings through this time of sorrow. John Helton CDR, USCG Retired.

I first met Doug several years ago in our golfing groups of Monday, Wednesday and Friday and he was always cheerful and fun to be around. Doug was also in our foursome that would travel away from the Villages to play a different course and it was amazing that no matter where we went it seemed Doug new how to get there without any help from navigation software. He will be missed and I am sorry for your loss Bernard Wedding
