Charles was my brother in law and I am going to miss him. Every time I see a fruitcake joke at Christmas I am sure it will bring a twinge and a smile to my heart. My husband John and I and Charles and Hellen spent several years passing flamingos around between us. We never knew when or where they were going to show up. Especially the traveling trio. Rest in peace and thank you for giving my sister such love.

I was so shocked to learn of Charles passing. While walking my dog in the morning, I would often see Charles driving with Ella in the back seat as they were either going to or coming back from the dog park. After Ella's back legs weakened we would see each other outside near the pond as both our dogs seemed to be on the same schedule. Seeing that both large dogs wanted to pull their masters we had to turn and go the opposite direction to prevent a fall. His warm hello and smile will be missed. After reading his obituary one can see Charles had a full & fun life. Rest in peace Charles. Love and peace to Hellen.

My condolences goes out to the family of charles, his wife Hellen who i have had the pleasure of dealing with for over 40 years as my travel agent. Charles was a very quiet person who loved the Bahamas were i met him. I remembered that time we went for lunch in Nassau it was like he had known me for ever. Sleep on Charles take your rest in the arms of the almighty God. May your soul rest in peace.

Such sad news. Charles was an amazing, smart, sweet and kind hearted man. i have many fond memories of our time together at V.I.P. His love of animals, his humor, he was an overall nice guy. The world has lost a wonderful person. Bob and I send our thoughts and prayers to Hellen and the entire family.

It is with sadness that I learned of Charles passing. Having moved to The Villages about the same time as Charles and Hellen, I had the good fortune to have met them playing trivia. I liked him immediately, particularly his sense of humor. The world was a better place because of Charles, and those of us who were privileged to have known him feel richer for the experience. My deepest condolences and sympathies to Hellen and his family. - Lewis Williams

When I first heard the terrible news, I wanted to believe it was untrue, a rumor. But then after hearing from others, I knew in my heart that the world had lost one of the kindest men I had the pleasure of knowing and working with. Hellen and family, please know that I grieve with you, in a different way of course, but grieve nonetheless. I have so many wonderful memories working with Charles at the Caridad Center. Rightly so, he was rigid about his accounting. No one could ever fault him for his figures. When he, and Hellen, were at my side at every fundraiser, he never took his eye off the ball and I would know that every penny would be credited where and as it should be. But he also had a heart as big as all outdoors. That was obvious as he often assisted me with the feeding and care for the numerous feral cats around the Center. On days that I could not feed them, Charles always stepped in and assured me that on Sundays they would have a can of salmon. His smile and his sometimes almost shy manner, his great sense of humor and his kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
