Obituary of Nathan Duncan
Nathan “Keith” Duncan, amazing husband, father and grandfather, entered eternal life on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
Keith was born on April 12, 1962 in Moultrie, Georgia to Clarence and Fran (Weaver) Duncan. Keith moved to Ocala in 1970 and met the love of his life, Deanne (Barber) that same year at Highlands Baptist Church. Keith and Deanne married on June 23, 1984.
Keith is survived by his wife Deanne, his parents Clarence and Fran, his daughter Lindsay Duncan of Ocala, and his son, Alex Duncan (Alexa-Rae) of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is also survived by his sisters, Karla Stephens (Eric), and Karen Carlisle (Todd), two nieces and two nephews. Keith is the proud grandfather of Charli-Rae and Zuri and dog dad to Tebow and Fitz.
A graduate of Forest High School, Keith attended Gardner Webb University on a baseball scholarship before transferring and graduating from University of Florida with a degree in finance. Keith graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master’s in Divinity.
Keith spent 12 years working at Barnett Bank before serving God in various ministry roles in Birmingham, AL and Jackson, MS. Keith served at Church @ The Springs for 10 years in roles as Business Administrator and Campus Pastor for the Southwest Campus. Keith was equally known for his ability to pull a prank on his co-workers as he was to offer a word of wisdom or encouragement. Keith believed that every person matters to God and he was committed to his community and his church, with a particular passion for planting new churches.
Keith was an avid sports fan and was extremely passionate about all Florida Gator sports, especially football, baseball and women’s gymnastics. He also enjoyed competing in sports; his favorites were pickleball and golf.
