Obituary of Sandra S. Goutermout

Sandra S. Goutermout, 66 of Homosassa, FL and formerly of Copenhagen, NY, peacefully passed away on the evening of February 5th in the Citrus County Health and Rehabilitation Center where she was recupperating after a long and difficult heart surgery on December 19, 2020.

Sandy was born on May 26th, 1954 in Watertown, NY to Robert and Audrey Barker.  She grew up in Dexter And Brownville , NY where she attended and graduated from General Brown High School in 1972 as well as completing her training in Cosmotology that same year.  She started working at the Brownville Diner after graduation and then enjoyed a lot of years working at Giovanni's Restaurant in Watertown.  When she moved to Barnes Corners, she worked at Barnes Corners Hotel, and Louies, where she made many new friends.
She was married to Sheridan Goutermout, which later ended in divorce. She lived in Florida for the past several years.

She was an avid crafter, making beautiful arrangements with any budget. She was a phenomenal cook and always shared with family and friends, she always cared more about others more than herself as well as being a kind person, she was also a very strong willed person, she got that from her Mom's side of the family.

She is survived by her sister Julie Mckinney (Terry) Exeter, CA , her brother Thomas Barker (Sarah), Brownville, NY, a sister Ruth Bagley (Ian), Cortland, NY.  Denise Barker FL. As well as several nieces, and nephews that she loved dearly, her very special niece who became more like the daughter she never had, Michealia Zakarauskas (Stephen) Fort Meade, MD as well as two very special God sons William H. Snyder and Joseph Snyder as well as all of her Florida friends and family.

Sandy was predeceased by both her parents, her brother Robert Barker Jr., her brother in law Terry McKinney and her mentor and close friend Bill Duke Snyder.

As per Sandy's wishes there will be no funeral and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
