Obituary of Victoria Cruz

The Matriarch of the Centeno family, Victoria Cruz, age 81, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 7:23pm in Ocala, Florida.  She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love and laughter of her 10 children.  Victoria was predeceased in death by her parents, Pedro & Isabel Beauchamp-Cruz, her son Sandy Centeno and her husband of 56 years, the love of her life, Ignacio “Nacho” Centeno. 

Victoria Cruz, born on March 23, 1939 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, was beloved by all and lived life to its fullest.  Her home and heart were always open for anyone in need, with a smile on her face and a plate of Spanish food in her hand. Beloved by all for her sense of humor and zest for life, she was always the light that brightened the path of those around her and the rock that everyone leaned upon.

Victoria is survived by her sisters Monsa & Lucy, her 10 children, Ignacio Jr., Luis, Hiram, Jose, Ismael “Izzy”, Mike, Dennis “Lefty”, Rose “Lisa”, Pedro & Vicky, 30 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. 

Visitation for Victoria will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services (9695 SW 110th Street, Ocala, FL 34481) from 5:00pm until 9:00pm on Wednesday, February 10 with the funeral service taking place at 7:00pm.
