Obituary of Kathryn Leavitt Harper
Kathryn Leavitt Harper, 91, of Ocala, Florida passed away at her home on January 10, 2021. She was born April 16, 1929 the daughter of the late Clara and Herbert Leavitt. Kathryn lived a full and vibrant life, with many memorable milestones throughout her 91 years. Memories such as class valedictorian, dancing in county fairs for Glyde, her girls club group, working in New York for CBS, acting in the Annapolis theatre, and meeting her future husband, Robert Harper.
Kathryn and Robert later moved to Glassboro, New Jersey, where she was a member of the Pitman Presbyterian Church and sang in various groups. Kathryn had a beautiful soprano voice and loved to share her love of music with all she met. Kathryn later opened a dance studio where she taught the local children to love ballet and tap. Kathyn touched many lives but none more than her two children, Bevin Lorena Serey and April Kathryn Harper, and her three grandsons, Brian Patrick Harper, Stephen Michael Harper, and Robert Keith Harper (Ashley Rosado).
A memorial service for Kathryn will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Online condolences may be sent to hiers-baxley.com.
