Obituary of Giovanni M. Ricciardone

Giovanni (John) M. Ricciardone passed away Wednesday, January 5th at Estelle’s House Hospice Center in Ocala, Fla. at the age of 94 after a brief illness.

Born July 29, 1926 in Jersey City, N.J. he was the son of the late Michael and Angelina Ferro Ricciardone. The family moved to Stamford, Ct where John grew up and went on to serve in the U.S. Naval Service before receiving an Honorable discharge. While living in Stamford, “Johnny Rich” (as he was known to his friends and family) met & married his beloved wife of 41 years, Emma Pilloud Ricciardone. He worked many years for John A. Ferro Scrap Metal before ending his career with Rubino Bros. Upon his retirement, Johnny & Emma moved to Ocala, Florida where he was an avid golfer & loved to socialize with his friends. Cheerful, easy-going and quick with a smile, Johnny loved to engage in light-hearted needling and was always a joy to be around. John is survived by his wife Emma along with numerous cousins, godchildren & friends whom he cherished. Johnny was loved and will be missed by all.

Arrangements are being handled by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 910 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, Fl 34470. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
