Neal was always a great benefit to all that he worked with, always nice, friendly, and supportive. He was not only a great scholar but an outstanding individual.

I wish to express my most sincere condolences. As a FISC student in the mid 70s, I was the first of many family members to receive a world class education from Neal. Our association with CALS has not only been instrumental, but also enjoyable. His gull joke has been shared as recently as this past week. Truly, in our thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Dr. Jorgensen for many years in CALS Administration; he was a great person to work for. He cared about you, listened, always had a positive attitude and was always very appreciative of everyone's work. I have fond memories of him and feel very fortunate to have known him. My thoughts and prayers to Darlyne and family.

I’m sorry to learn of Neal’s death. He was a totally class act. I had the pleasure of serving under Neal on UW’s faculty in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. He always put the best interests of UW and CALS first, and was always positive in how he interacted with people. He was always looking forward. I have never known anyone who embodied the Wisconsin Idea more than Neal Jorgensen. My sincere condolences to his entire family.

Dear Darlyne,
I know this is a difficult time for you and you have my heartfelt sympathy. Dick Powers thought the world of Neal and I know what an important part you had in educating my daughter, Sarah Krueger. Please know that you are surrounded by a cloud of love and support by all of us Wisconsin folk.

One of the most striking characteristics of Neal is that he was always so positive. I served with him on many committees in the college and greatly respected his commitment to the Academy, students, and those he mentored. RIP Neal. Being on the ride with you was a great pleasure. I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Neal A. Jorgensen. Neal made exceptional contributions to the welfare of the dairy industry as an educator, scientist, and administrator. Neal is the only individual to have been recognized by the American Dairy Science Association in all three areas of endeavor: teaching, research, and administration. The depth and breadth of his accomplishments is truly immense. His was a high energy personality, and he was tireless and selfless in his work throughout his career. George Shook
