I met Jim on a trip around Europe. His zest for life, love and laughter drew me to him. We developed an amazing friendship which lasted 13 years. I will miss his happy laughs and cherish all the fond memories. His teddy and my koala got up to so much mischief on our trip. RIP my dear friend♥️

Memories of Jim - where to begin: Those wonderful dinner parties at your beautiful home in Pacific - best Bloody Marys! Showing horses in Missouri with you and your "heart" horse - Luzon. The support you and Dave always gave me at the National Show Horse Finals - in Omaha leaving Perkins at 3:00 AM and singing along with "Me and My Bobbie McGee" at the top of our lungs. In Springfield, Illinois playing "keystone cops" trying to find our favorite restaurant to celebrate. I will miss our phone conversations but going forward I will always think of you as finally reunited with your two and four legged friends. Condolences to Cindy and Scott and families. RIP my dear friend.

What to say about Jim? So many things. His tomatoes, his love for his horses and his cats, his love of any chocolate, his compassion if you just needed to vent, his laughter, his Christmas parties. I know I will miss our many conversations over the fence. We were neighbors for 20 years - how fast the time went. We will surely miss him. I posted the only photo I have of Jim and Dave. It was taken in 2015. Our condolences to Cindy and Scott.

My sincere condolences to Jim's entire family. He was affectionately known to me and a great deal many others as 'Cindy's dad'. I so much enjoyed visiting him and Uncle David with Cindy during high school and beyond. He was most definitely the coolest dad ever. I had the privilege of corresponding with Jim as an adult and so enjoyed hearing from him. Such fond memories to reflect upon. Godspeed

As his writeup said, he certainly had a green thumb. He would load up his tomatoes in the bucket on his tractor and bring them over to his neighbors. At Christmas we would find a huge poinsettia at our door with no name on it, but we knew it came from him. Many times you would see him standing at the fence with one of his neighbors talking to him. He will be missed.
