Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Lingerfelt

Mary Elizabeth Lingerfelt, 72, of Ocala, Florida, went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2020 at Advent Health Ocala. She was born March 4, 1948, the daughter of the late Raymond and Dale Colegrove. Mary was a native to Dayon, Ohio, traveled around the country by the side of her loving husband, Garland, during his Army and Civil Service career, and moved to Ocala for retirement. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mary worked passionately for 20 years as a licensed practical nurse, caring for her elderly patients like they were her own family. Mary had a zeal for life, experienced pleasure in simple things, and gave joy to others by her mere presence despite the many physical challenges she faced daily. Mary had a deep faith in the Lord, enjoyed spending time with her church family, and had a heart for giving to others. Mary's hobbies were quilting and puzzles. Mary's true passion in life was caring for the love of her life, Garland, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Garland Lingerfelt; her children, Joseph (Patty Sardisco) Lingerfelt and Dawn (John) Best; grandchildren, Brooke (Andrew) Mari, Lindsey (Anthony Harrington) Best, Peri Barnes, Jacob Best, Noah Lingerfelt, and Samuel Lingerfelt; and siblings, Ray Colegrove, Patty (Larry) Coulthard, Janie Carden, and Judy (Victor) Moore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Dale Colegrove.

A visitation for Mary will be held on Sunday, December 20 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services - TimberRidge (9695 SW 110th Street, Ocala, FL 34481). Social distancing will be observed. Services and the burial for Mary will remain private; however, family members and friends may attend virtually at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/262062822.
