I will always have many joyous memories of my Father-Inlaw, Jim R McGoldrick. So many I may not be able to list them all.
He usually greeted me with a with his cheery smile and a jolly welcoming comment that brought warmth to my heart of sincerity.
He was always quite a busy man. An entrepreneur, it seemed he always had some sort of business happening. Keeping busy with his Lodge meetings or Rotary Club and their festive events or with his many hobbies like wood crafting, reloading and fishing.
He was very experienced in many things and would tell stories of his adventures although I was never sure if his stories were completely truthful because he always seemed to embellish them with funny and far fetched facts that left me wondering if he were “pulling my leg” for a reaction.
I guess most memorable would be of his tall statue, big blue eyes and his love of all living things, especially his pets. His hospitality, compassion, of his sharing, his kind and caring nature.
He was a proud man. Of what he had learned, who he had become, of his children, of his wife and his life.
The detailed list of all my loving memories of this man would have to made into a book because there are so many. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to have him in my life and part of who I am today. He will be greatly missed. I loved him very much.

I'll always have warm, loving memories of visiting my grandparents, Jim and Debbie, during the holidays. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas, it was a highlight to drive to their big house in Chugiak, get greeting by the barking dogs, the yelling bird, a hug from Grandma, and a heartly "Well, hello!" from Grandpa Jim. He would always be ready with a cheery smile, an energetic conversation, and an interesting anecdote. I'll always cherish the time we spent together, and he'll always live on in the hearts of his family, and the people who knew and loved him.

Some thoughts about my Uncle Jim.
He was always glad to see you when you stopped by. I miss those hours spent at their dinner table talking politics and hearing Jim's stories. And the Thanksgiving dinners with family and Christmas Eve readings of The Night before Christmas with Jim in his night shirt and cap with Chandalyn and later grandkids. Then there were the St. Patty's Day parties...eat, drink and be Irish get togethers. While resting on the couch in Jim's office one evening I started listening to the bird, Bitten, I thought he was just making noise but realized he was spouting insurance terms. He had listened to Jim dictate insurance reports for so long he was talking reports also. I went with Jim to Chitina lots of times to take our turn on the fishwheel. That was always an adventure. Then cutting fish at the house and that smoked salmon, wow. He showed me how to fillet salmon and I passed that trick on to others as time went by. I still remember the one spring day at the house when a flock of ducks were flying over. He had a duck call in his hand and said watch this. He called those ducks down and they landed in a water hole in the front yard. Those ducks came back for years after that and in bigger numbers. I think he had a way with animals. Then the rabbit herd that was always in the yard...he was always nursing a sick or injured bunny in the garage and feeding them at the table. We worked on more than a few building projects together. He gave me a 68 Mercedes for a roof job on the new room. After sitting in the woods for 7 years it started right up and we drove it out. I still have the purple Mercedes and probably always will. It reminds me of my Uncle. He taught me to be an Insurance Adjuster. He explained to me what an insurance adjuster does in a span of about 10 minutes, then piled 30 or so files on my desk. It was probably my favorite profession of the many things I tried. He was good at his craft and I learned a lot from him. I could go on and on about my Uncle. He was loved by many and respected by all who knew him. He was a fair and good man and I'm gonna miss him. But I have my memories...Thanks for the memories Jim.
