Obituary of Donald G. Seyferth

Donald G. Seyferth, of Summerfield, Florida passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020. He was 89 years old. He was born on May 10, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late George and Margaret Seyferth.

 

He went to Western Hills High school where he was in the choir and was proud that he sang with the Cincinnati Symphony at the May Festival. Don loved music and enjoyed going to Cincinnati Pops Concerts. His career was always in construction and carpentry, first working for his uncles and then later starting his own construction company. He did many projects throughout Cincinnati, including many schools and churches. Don loved doing projects at home.

 

He lived in Cincinnati for most of his life, but later in life lived in Florida where he loved to be out in the sunshine, but always went back to Ohio for the summer. He was a devout Catholic, and was a longtime member of St. Teresa of Avila where he was married. He prayed the rosary daily and had devotions to Immaculate Heart of Mary.

 

Don loved to travel and he loved to dance, especially the waltz. Spending time with family and their health and happiness was always his priority.

 

He was preceded in death by his first wife who passed away in 2000, Ruth H. Seyferth (nee Kist). They were married for 49 years and had 6 children. 

 

He is survived by his second wife, Jacqueline Seyferth (nee Dues); children, Dennis Seyferth (predeceased) wife Donna, Donna Seyferth Olberding (Ed), Diane Seyferth Wright (Jeff), Doug Seyferth (Terri), Debby Seyferth Dearth (Chris), Denise Seyferth Albers (George); 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

 

A memorial mass for the family will be held in January 2021 at St. Bernard of Clairvaux in Cincinnati.

 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
