Obituary of Martha Kitsmiller

Martha Kitsmiller, 88, of Summerfield, Florida passed away November 16, 2020 in her home. She was the wife of the late John D. Kitsmiller who passed away in 2012.

Martha was born in Indiana a daughter of the late Roy and Elizabeth Sabens. She grew up on the farm with her siblings Dale Sabens, Ellen Faust and Ann Lanum who all proceeded her in death. After marrying John, the family moved several times and lived in Indiana, Kansas, Connecticut, Missouri and Tennessee. Martha and John moved to Del Webb Spruce Creek Country Club in 2004. Martha enjoyed playing cards at the Club House, getting her hair done on Wednesdays, and being a member of the Red Hatters. She enjoyed being with her friends and having dinner out every week with “the dinner group”. Martha was a dog lover and pampered each one of them who came into her life. She was especially fond of her golden retriever children Cassie, Gabe, Trudi and Trudi 2.

Martha is survived by sons, John Kitsmiller and his wife Natasha or Ocala, FL; Mike Kitsmiller and his wife Karen of Marion, IA; grandchildren Michael and Anna Kitsmiller; and great granddaughter Grace Kitsmiller.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Condolences maybe left at Hiers-Baxley.com. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to an animal shelter of your choice.
