We had the good fortune to meet Jo and Ed on our trip to Italy in 2018. We met and immediately formed a wonderful friendship from the beginning of our 14 day trip. We drank and ate and laughed all through Italy. The best was when we went to a supermarket in Venice and we were able to fill our own bottles of wine from tap ...we got one of each!
They invited Edith and I to join them on another adventure to Egypt in 2020 and we did, that was truly an adventure as you may know. We enjoyed the Pyramids the stinky camels, the Valley of the Kings, and the strange food. We also planned to travel together to Ireland & Scotland.
Ed was such a sweet, loving giving and caring man. He dealt with 3 women wanting to go here and there and he went along with the program - what a guy! We fell in love with him and dubbed him "our little guy" and that is how we will always remember him.
Jo and Ed made a perfect loving couple, full of laughs, hosting parties and being surrounded by good friends. He loved to be in his signature attire, "shorts and flip flops". He will be missed, we pray for our dear friend Jo and the family. Love Cari & Edith

I’m so sorry for your loss. Praying the God of all comfort helps you at this difficult time. (2Corinthians 1:3,4 & Psalms 83:18). Jesus told us to pray for God’s Kingdom because the Bible promises it will end tears pain and death. (Revelation 21:3-5 & Daniel 2:44).

Our hearts go out to Joann and all the Riley family for the loss of their husband, father, grandfather. He was a fine, gentle man and a wonderful neighbor. When we first moved to this neighborhood Ed was the first to welcome us to the area. Our memories of his smile and laughter will be with us forever. Our years of our shared companionship were far too few, It is often said that the measure of a man can be gaged by how animals respond to him: Our little dog Casey loved him.... Ed was more than a friend to our family dating back to when I began coaching his son Matt in Pop Warner football. Most parents badger the coach for their son to play quarterback, however, it was I that badgered Ed (and Joann) that their son be our QB. Ed attended every game and we became very good friends with the Rileys'.
In 2015, Ed & Joann talked about moving to the Villages in Florida and somehow convinced us to move to Florida as well. Ed helped me with fixing some minor repairs on the house and we soon followed him and Joann to Florida. I always enjoyed visiting him and Joann in their home in the Villages, Ed was so proud to call it home almost as proud of how he talked about his children.
I'll never forget the music - the concerts we attended together Fleetwood Mac, REO Speedwagon, Chicago, Rumors, Eddie Money and of course the music in the Village Squares where Ed showed me the trick of stocking up during happy hour and storing the beers in the ice bucket. I always said "let's take the golf cart" even with one of the last rides being in the rain. It was always a good time meeting up with the Rileys', times I will always cherish.
Ed was taken from us way too soon, but he was here long enough to leave a lasting legacy that we will never forget. This beer's to you Ed (yes, it's an IPA). RIP my friend.
