We used to visit in the summer, and would always go to a movie or two. In the Summer of 1982, we went to see Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. Which has become one of my favorite films. There are 3 quotes at the end that particularly remind me of Dad right now. (and of course Dad was always Kirk, in my mind). I've been struggling with whether to share these (it's been 6 weeks since Dad died) and I finally decided I would.
SPOCK
I have been -- and always shall be
-- your friend...
KIRK
Of my friend, I can only say this, that
of all the souls I have encountered
in my travels, his was the most --
(voice trembles)
-- human.
KIRK
(quietly)
It is a far far better thing I do
than I have ever done before... a
far better resting place I go to
than I have ever known...
[from A Tale of Two Cities -
A recent birthday gift from Spock]
We watched a lot of Star Trek, me and Dad. Even when I was little little.
The word is given, Dad. Godspeed.
Our Loss is Heaven's Gain.

I am so sorry to hear about Phillip. I am from boston and a long time friend of Phil I think there were 8 of us who met in 1953 at st George cathedral. Where we sang in the choir, were involved in all sports, played together on the baseball team and were always together at parties, dances and just about everywhere. We had great times together, and if someone needed something, someone was always there. This news really hit us all very hard as we know the same or more for the family. I just wanted to express my feelings for my self and the rest of his friends from boston.. God bless and keep him safe. He will always be remembered in our hearts.. Richard kosta

I met Phil when we were on a cruise to Alaska. I was impressed by not only what he did for a living but his humble nature. It takes a lot to impress me but Phil did it hands down. Over the years we have been in contact and each time I have truly enjoyed our talks. He is the type of person that would do anything to help another person. I will truly miss him and someday will see him again.
