Obituary of Donald Eugene Cox
Donald Eugene Cox, 97, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020. Donald was born in Wolbach, Nebraska, and grew up in Albion, Nebraska. A US Army Air Corp veteran, he served with the 460th Bomb group in Italy during WWII.
After the war, he studied refrigeration and air-conditioning, worked as a Control Inspector on the B-47 and B-52 aircraft, owned and operated a Ben Franklin store, and a furniture and appliance store in Sterling, Kansas. He moved to Florida to work as a quality control inspector for the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs.
Survived by his wife of 71 years, he will always hold a special place in the hearts of his 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be 10:30am on Friday, July 24th at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Attendance is limited due to Covid-19.
