From the first time we met, I was awed by Monica... her sense of humor bowled me over... her warm acceptance of everyone in our Taste Team group (that kept growing because once someone new met her they wanted to come to all our luncheons just to be around her!) ... her quick wit and hysterical way of telling the simplest thing. Particularly I admired her ability to laugh at all the scary things that were happening to her even when we knew she really was scared . She made every gathering a joy for all of us regardless of her own problems. A bright light has indeed gone out... But Wait... Look Above...
a brilliant new star is shining in the heavens!
Erwin, you were so blessed to have had her all those many years... hold tight to your best memories... talk to her often ... she is but "waiting for you... just round the corner... How (you) shall laugh at the trouble of parting when (you) meet again." (H.S.Holland)
Loving prayers and hugs for you and your family!!
Gloria (Kazimer) & Lynn Griebahn

We didn’t get to see Monica often, but when we did she was always full of life and love. Her ability to make people feel at home and welcome was a solid trait she possessed. When she was drawing up her family recipient book, she shared it with us and enabled us to enjoy the foods she cooked so well. May the Lord comfort all her family until the day all are reunited forever in eternity.

I have been so blessed to have had my Aunt Monica in my life since childhood and into adulthood. She was a wonderful great aunt to my three sons who are also adults now. We all have so many great memories of going to Lake Geneva with her, Uncle Erwin and the cousins and of all the birthday and Christmas parties we were all a part of. She always worked hard to make it special and took care of everyone's needs. She took care of family members who were sick or in need in some way. Even during times where she wasn't happy with someone or a situation, she'd do something kind or do something to help regardless. She had such a big heart and was generous in all ways and in all things. One of my favorite, funny memories is when she bought my 3-year old son a Barbie doll because that's what he wanted for Christmas. He liked playing with his action figures at the time and for some reason decided he wanted a Barbie doll to add to his collection (much to the dismay of his slightly older two brothers). Aunt Monica was determined to get him what he wanted no matter what. I didn't have the heart to tell her Barbie died a quick death at the hands of his brothers once we got home. That's just one in a million memories I will always cherish. She will be missed so much by all who knew her. My heart and love goes out to Erwin, Greg, John, Uncle Bob, Kathy and all of their family members. Love you all, Chris

Monica always made us feel welcome like family. A great cook, she shared her cook books and recipes with us. Always a good time with her and Erwin. She loved Sammy (our dog) and literally had him eating out of her hand and doing tricks as soon as they met! She let Erwin and I make music with harmonics guitars and singing...made us feel like we were pretty good! Monica made this world a better place. Heaven gained another angel...sincerely Bob Judy and Sammy

Monica was very generous with her time, money & meals. She always made sure that EVERYONE had EVERYTHING that they needed. Cooking was her passion, and her meals were always amazing! Monica had an incredible attention to detail and everything she did was the absolute best it could be. Her love for her family was evident every day. She will forever be missed!
Rest in the hands of the Lord.

Where’s the party…Where’s Monica?? Monica wasn’t the life of the party; Monica was the party.
If ever you knew Monica you knew she was always inviting people over. For years in Hickory Hills, in Lake Como, in Sarasota, and in The Villages the party was always at Monica’s house. Cooking, playing games, planning a social event were all skills that Monica perfected. She loved having her family and people around and went out of her way to make sure everyone had a good time.
But besides all the fun times she ran a tight ship. No matter what Erwin ever thought Monica ruled the roost. She was strong, organized, she tracked all the important dates and issues. Her memory was outstanding of who was there, when it happened, and who was related to whom. If she were here, she would tell Erwin that Bob never cooked a fish in his dishwasher. She would also tell Bob that Erwin would have married her even if Bob didn’t get back from traveling Europe after his Navy discharge, to be his best man at their wedding.
She watched over her husband and sons better than any mother hen anywhere and was always concerned for her grandchildren.
Years of fun and holidays can never be erased. Memories might fade but they don’t go away. It will never be the same, it couldn’t be, but all those good times will stay in our hears forever.
To Erwin, Greg, and John…………..our hearts break for your loss, and ours.

Condolences to Monica’s family. She had many good qualities as a person, the one that stands out was Monica was a wonderful Grandmother to my son Joshua. There was not anything that she wouldn’t do for him. They had a very special bond. I could only hope to achieve that bond with my own Grandchildren. I couldn’t have asked for a better Grandmother for my Joshua. He will always miss you and think of you with great fondness.
I would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to Monica for assistance in getting through Nursing school. Monica cared for Joshua while I was in class and at clinicals at the hospital. Monica helped me achieve my goal In my professional life.
Monica was also the most talented cook I ever knew. I sure miss those pork Chops!
Monica your family will miss you and be forever grateful you were selfless in your role as Wife, Mother and Grandmother.

Mom you were always there for me no matter what. You showed me how to cook, be a man, be kind, be a good father. I am going to miss you every day. I am going to miss your smile and laugh. If I could ask god for one more day I would do anything just to see your number come up on my phone and for you to say hi and I love you. Your grandson will miss the adventures we use to go on Disney, St Augustine, Sea World and camping and much more We will watch over dad and protect him as you did for the past 55 years. God bless you mom you are at peace you will never be forgotten

I remember years ago Monica, Erwin, Bill & I went to buy some motor scooters. We all tried them out in the store parking lot. When Monica got on we told her what to do. The scooter took off with Monica yelling the whole time. She could not stop and flew across the street. It stopped when it got caught in the tall grass. We all laughed. Just one of so many memories. Love Janice & Bill Krueger.

I don’t know where to start. Everything I did, every thought I had every future plan I made included my dear mother. The only thing that ever made her happy was making you happy. Her whole life was dedicated to taking care of her boys. The void can never be filled but the family and legacy you created will live forever. I love you mom, more than words can describe, and I will miss you deeply. Your son John
