It has been a few weeks, and still has not sunk in that she is gone. Such a strong part of our little neighborhood, opening her home and heart to all of us. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her decorating taste, her generosity and her artistic talents. I miss painting with her, playing a game of Rummikub or Mah Jonge, or enjoying a cup of tea on the lanai. She and Bob were a wonderful couple, and our hearts break for him. Much love, Cathie and Paul Yamilkoski

Merica and Bob have been wonderful neighbors and she will be so missed. When we all moved into our neighborhood in 2012, Mercia hosted a game night monthly at her home for women in the neighborhood. It gave us all a chance to meet each other and spend time enjoying a chat and games. She brought many of us together during the early days as our neighborhood filled out. Many of those friendships and relationships continue today.
Mercia was a delightfully positive woman who's positivity will be sorely missed. I'm glad we had her as long as we did!

I have met Mercia a few times at her daughter, Marisol's, house and will always keep the memory of and incredibly good looking Lady; besides being always immaculately dressed and made up, Mercia transpired this inner positive, joyful and loving soul that made her life so successful. I have followed her fight those past few years mostly through Marisol's testimonies and her way of life, her decisions how to conduct her life all along her cancer years, will remain an example of courage, love and faith that I will always remember.
Thank you Mercia for living through Marisol.
May her joy, strength and love remain with all her children and grandchildren.

If only time could have given me an opportunity to know your mother more, but the stories we shared, I will keep in my heart.
I only just met her one month ago, i had so much
more I wanted to know, but God needed another
Angel, so she had to say her goodbyes to all.
I joined her for tea one morning, Oh, how could anyone mess up tea so bad. We laughed together and decided that I was not quite ready for a tea party yet.
I had so much to ask her, but I was blessed with having the honors of what we did share together.
I know she will be missed by so many, but she left behind so much...
May this candle I light, send the warmth I felt for the time we did share together and never go out.
My, what a amazing lady she must of been, as I was only blessed for a short while before she had to go.
May God bless all of you during this time of sorrow, but keeping her memories will bring joy to you all. Amen.

A great woman, will be always thankful for all the learnings she passed along to my father Eloy in his real estate career and to mine as well. Forever grateful.

AFTER THE
POEM. SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the
fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,Not see his
sorrow?
Ever lost touch,Let a good
friendship die Cause you
never had time To call
and say,'Hi'
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last..
When you run
so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting
there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,It is like an unopened
gift....Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music Before the song is
over.
Dear All:
PLEASE pass this mail on to everyone you know -
even to those you don't
know! It is the request of a special girl who will soon leave this world
due to cancer.
This young girl has 6 months left
to live,
and as her dying wish, she wanted to send a letter telling everyone to
live their life to the fullest, since she never will.
She'll never make it to prom, graduate from high school,
or get married and have a
family of her own.
By you sending
this to as many people as
possible, you can give her and her family a little hope, because with every name that this is sent to, The American
Cancer Society will donate 3 cents per name to her treatment and recovery
plan.. One guy sent this to 500 people! So I know that we can at least send
it to 5 or 6. It's
not even your money, just your time!
PLEASE PASS ON AS A LAST REQUEST.

Rick and I were lucky to have been friends with Mercia. We have known her for seven years in The Villages and have had many happy occasions with her and Bob. From dinners with groups of our friends, to golf, to lunch after golf, to dropping in to visit, we have made wonderful memories. Mercia was an excellent artist, golfer, decorater, mom, grandparent and "mom" to her dogs. Our deepest sorrow to Bob and her entire family.
