Obituary of Larry Wayne Lehman

Larry Wayne Lehman passed away on March 9, 2020, 2 days before his 76th birthday.  Prior to his death, he expressed he felt better than he had in years. Larry had been dealing with a number of issues over the last year, including congestive heart failure.  He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph E. Lehman, his mother Lillian Griffis Lehman and his dear brother Gary. He is survived by his two sisters Patricia and Barbara, his two sons and his daughters-in-law, Jason and Kim and Clay and Kelly, his nephew Stacy, who he loved like a son, and his grandkids Elizabeth, Catherine, Sydney, Spencer, Julia, Davis, Harrison, and Olivia.

Larry was born in Orlando, Florida. Soon after his birth, his family moved to Pleasant Grove, Alabama where they stayed through his freshman year of high school.  His family moved back to Orlando and Larry attended Evans High School. Following his graduation, Larry attended Florida State University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and obtained his CPA license.  For many years, Larry practiced accounting at Lehman, Moore, and Associates. Following his career with Lehman and Moore, he served as the administrator of Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic. In 2001, he moved to Gainesville, Georgia to run Specialty Clinics of Georgia.  In 2017, he retired to Florida to be closer to his family.

He loved to laugh with friends, watch Florida State sports, fish, cook and bake. His favorite thing to do was to bring a smile to your face with his famous peanut butter fudge or a delicious homemade quiche.  His smile, laugh, wisdom and friendship will be missed by many.

Larry’s Celebration of Life service will be on Saturday, March 14^th at 1:00 pm at the Brick City Church, 343 NE 1st Ave. Ocala, FL 34470, with Pastor Brad Nelson leading the service

Larry’s Famous Peanut Butter Fudge

2 sticks of Butter                                                                              1 cup of Crunchy Peanut Butter

1 box powdered sugar                                                                   45 vanilla wafers, crumbled up

½ cup heavy cream                                                                         12 oz. pack semi sweet chocolate chips

¾ cup salted peanuts

Cream together the butter and crunchy peanut butter in a mixer.  Mix in powdered sugar.  Add the vanilla wafers and mix into a ball. 

Grease a 9x13 pan with butter.  Cover pan with wax paper.  Spread peanut butter mixture over wax paper. 

In a pan on the stove, add ½  cup heavy cream and pack of semi-sweet chocolate chips.  Stir until chocolate chips melt.  Pour over peanut butter mixture.

Chop ¾ cup of salted peanuts, and sprinkle over chocolate.  Cool in refrigerator for an hour or until chocolate hardens.  Cut & Enjoy!!
