Here are some pictures from St. Thomas Aquinas-Holy Family Elementary School in Brooklyn, where Clare, then Sr. Clare, was Principal. Clare hired me right out of St. Francis College in 1979, an act of kindness for which I've always been grateful to Clare. She gave me my start. Clare hired me to teach Religion to the Confirmation class, which back then was in 7th grade. Clare held a monthly liturgy for each class -- the class Mass -- as it mentions in her obituary. I still have the Bible she gave me for class use, with Clare's distinctive handwriting on it: "Class 7-2". Clare was a true believer and that made a deep impression on me. I know for a certainty she is in heaven. She was the real thing. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine on her. May her soul, and the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace! Amen. -Kenneth Vianale, Boca Raton, Florida.

Jim and I have so many wonderful and even funny memories of Clare as youngsters. Rockaway was a special place where everyone knew your name and whereabouts. Years lapsed, Clare was teaching we got married and were raising a family till we met back up in 1998. Somehow The Villages has a way with bringing people together. We picked up where we left off. Meeting Al was a blessing. Ten years enjoying dinner, shows, cruising etc were the best ten years of her life so she said many times. They needed each other and were a well matched pair. She suffered for five years and never complained till the end. RIP dear friend. Enjoy your reward and watch over us.
