Obituary of David Wayne Cook
Ocala, FL – David Wayne Cook, 65, passed away at home, on January 21, 2020. He was born in Sidney, OH, then later in childhood moved to Ocoee, FL with his parents, where he grew up and went to school. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond E. Cook.
David had a lifelong passion for music, fishing, and the outdoors. He was a beloved father and was a professional multi-instrumentalist musician, playing instruments such as electric guitar, bass, violin, mandolin, piano, and keyboards. Outside of music, his business and work experience was centered around construction, garage doors, electronics, home and commercial appliances, and HVAC.
His closest friends and neighbors remember him for his huge smile, and generosity for helping others. The family is grateful for the numerous testimonies received, from people whose lives have benefited from knowing him. We are also thankful for the outpouring of love and support, from those who knew, loved, and respected him.
Survivors include his mother, Marjorie A. Cook; children, Jason W. Cook and Kyle E. Cook; siblings, Carole L. Mort and Raymond E. Cook, Jr; and seven nephews and nieces.
A private celebration of his life will follow.
