“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)
As I think about Jimmie, the scripture above came into my mind. Jimmie touched my life with so few words, he exemplified a Christian filled with the Holy Spirit, when the spirit of God has permeated someone they seem to radiate a light of goodness, they live as an example of the fruit of the Spirit.
Jimmie did not need to say much at all, when I looked in his eyes, I saw love, the love of Christ and love of his fellow brothers and sisters. His gentleness was a haven in the midst of the harshness we are so often navigating in this world. I will always treasure our short time together in church and bible study, Jimmie will forever live in my heart.
Thank you Jimmie for touching our lives with your shining spirit and kind way. You have impacted me, your brothers and sisters, the church and the world.
As our hearts ache in missing you, there is joy in trusting you are now in the loving embrace of our Lord.
