Obituary of Bernerd Joseph Delman
Bernerd Joseph Delman, 91, of Ocala passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Life Care Center of Ocala in Ocala. Bernerd was a native of Boston, Massachusetts and moved to Ocala in 2002. During his professional career, he was a fundraiser for several health organizations. While he was in Boston, Bernerd was very active in many different committees including Sharon Jaycees, Sharon Runner’s Club, Republican Town Committee, and the Industrial Commission. He also served on a state board to improve the living conditions for the intellectually disabled. Bernerd led a support group for families of people with severe mental illness and was a member of Temple Israel Brotherhood. In his free time, Bernerd enjoyed jazz music and gardening. He was a very loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his loving wife, Arline Delman; children, Marcia (Michael) Morris and Jonathan (Deborah) Delman; grandchildren, Andrew and Alyssa Morris; step-grandson, Peter Vondras; and his brother, Alan Delman.
Predeceased by his parents, Abraham and Gladys Delman and his sister, Miriam Delman.
A graveside service will be held for Bernerd at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 9 at Temple Beth Shalom Cemetery (1109 NE 8th Ave., Ocala, FL 34470). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org). Online condolences may be sent at www.hiers-baxley.com.
