Obituary of Linda M. Stroup
Summerfield, FL – Linda M. Stroup, 71, of Summerfield, FL and formerly of Peoria, IL, passed away on January 5, 2020. Linda lived a wonderful life including great love of her husband and family, travel and a deep passion for golf and fishing.
Linda was born on August 6, 1948 in Peoria, IL, where she lived most of her life. She married the love of her life, H. Randy Stroup, on May 6, 1994, recently celebrating 25 years of marriage. He survives.
Linda was a loving mother of five children and will be missed by her son, Gary Hawksworth of Peoria, IL, stepdaughters, Ginger (Kevin) Benz of Lacon, IL, Brandy (Trent) Graybill of Lexington, IL, and Tiffani (Lari) Franada of Dunlap, IL, and stepson Randall (Jessica) Stroup of Peoria, IL. She had four grandchildren - Gary Hawskworth, Morgan (Brad) Nelson, Alison Franada and Madeline Franada, and one great granddaughter, Emma Nelson. All survive. Also surviving is her brother, William Parks of Thailand. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lorene Neylon.
Linda attended Midstate College and was a graduate of Richwoods High School in Peoria, IL. She had significant professional successes, including being a former CFO of Wayne Printing, the owner & operator of Stauffers Tanning & Fitness, a General Manager for Lums Restaurants and many other accounting professional positions.
She and her husband, Randy, moved to Summerfield, FL in 2014. Linda loved to play golf and was a member of the Eagle Ridge Women’s 9-hole golf association. She had the distinction of making a hole-in-one at the Oak Run Golf Course in Dahinda, IL. Linda also loved to fish and was a past member of the Illinois Bass Federation.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Moffitt Cancer Center and the Hampton Inn & Suites Tampa-North.
