Obituary of Robert Cronin
Robert “Bob” Cronin, 77, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019. Bob was born in Flushing, NY to William and Novella Cronin, and moved to Ocala in 2005 from Hollywood, FL.
He was an AHC (Architectural Hardware Consultant) and manager for Farrey’s Wholesale Hardware in Ft. Myers and Miami, FL for 28 years. Bob also served in the Army National Guard. He loved fishing and was “passionate” about golf.
Bob was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. While in Ft. Myers, with St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, he was president of their school board and taught Sunday school at the Spanish Mission. He volunteered at Hospice of Marion County and Lee County/ Ft. Myers. He also volunteered at Brother’s Keeper soup kitchen.
Bob is survived by his wife Marilynn Cronin, son Robert L. (Charli) Cronin , 2 daughters; Christine (Ray) Evans, and Cynthia (Alvaro) Vasquez, 6 grandchildren; Savannah, Tyler, Ashley, Emily, Jadon, and Ashton, sister Margaret Ramsey. Bob was predeceased by 2 brothers; William and Claude Cronin.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm on Thursday, January 2, 2019 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 9695 SE 110th St. Ocala, FL 34481 (352) 873-4114.
Bob will be acknowledged at morning mass at Queen of Peace Catholic Church on SR 200 in Ocala on Friday, January 3rd at 8:30am.
After cremation, his final resting place will be on the grounds at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
