Obituary of Angelina Gennaro

Angelina “Angie” Gennaro, 90, of Silver Springs, FL “received her wings” and entered her eternal rest on Thursday, November 21, 2019.  Angie was born in New York City, NY to James and Fannie Chakides and moved to Silver Springs in 1996 from Levittown, NY.  She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and beloved aunt.  She was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Salvatore Gennaro, in 2000.  Family and gardening were important to her and she kept a meticulously clean home.  Angie also had a wonderful singing voice. 

Angie is survived by daughter Josephine Gennaro of Silver Springs, son Joseph (Margaret) Gennaro of Lake Forest, CA, 2 granddaughters; Melissa (Daniel) Overbury-Howland and Anne Gennaro, great granddaughter Eleanor “Ellie” Overbury-Howland and great grandson Finley Overbury-Howland.

Visitation will be 5-7pm on Monday, November 25^th at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Ocala.  The funeral will be 9:30am on Tuesday, November 26^th at St. Basil the Great Orthodox Church, 5160 NE 29^th St. in Silver Springs with family receiving friends from 8:30-9:30am.  A repast will immediately follow the church ceremony, and burial will be at 1:30pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
