Obituary of Marsha Lois Higbie

On Saturday, September 28, 2019, Marsha Lois (Williams) Higbie, of Ocala went home to be with the Lord. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother who fought a courageous battle with cancer. Marsha was born on July 12, 1949 in Katonah, New York to Harold and Margaret (Hoy) Williams. She earned her Practical Nurse License in Hollywood, FL and was a nurse in Ocala, FL. On April 3, 1970 she married her childhood sweetheart, Arthur Dean Higbie. Together they adopted their three daughters Suzanne Higbie-Long, Elizabeth Higbie, and Annie Higbie, and later cherished being a grandmother of Isabella, Eliana, Kallie, Kah-elisa, and Jason.

Marsha delighted in the fellowship of family and friends, her love for babies and quilting, and her faithful life in Christ. She shared her creative passion of quilting with everyone who knew her, and made countless graduation, baby, marriage, and neonatal quilts. She enjoyed attending Meadowbrook Church where she volunteered holding babies in the nursery. She attended bible study at First Baptist Church of Ocala and was a member of the Country Road Quilters. Most who knew her say that heaven has received the closest thing to an angel on earth. She was known for her kind and gentle spirit, and easily saw the good in every person.

Marsha was preceded in death by her father, Harold, and mother, Margaret, as well as, her granddaughter, Ja’Mya who she is holding in heaven. She is survived by her husband, Arthur, her three daughters, and her sister, Betty Lou Morrill. She leaves behind two nieces, a nephew, two sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law who she loved like her own siblings.
