I knew Matthew from his place of employment. I have NEVER met such a kind, loving, polite, funny, intelligent young man!! Our group of friends would look so forward to when Matthew would be working. He brought such a warmth and glow about him. He made us all feel so important. He was full of respect. I just adored him. He touched my heart in such a way I can’t explain. His smile was contagious. He will be so missed!! It was such a honor and privilege to be around Matthew. To his parents. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your sweet angel with us!! You definitely raised a outstanding young man. Never doubt that!!! I pray and think of you constantly. May the peace of the Lord hold you in his compassionate heart. Matt is a beautiful, precious soul. I have video of him playing with Camryn and picking her up, making her laugh when James played football and Kaley & Taylor cheered. He was so sweet to this little girl who wanted to follow him around. He didn't mind at all and was happy to entertain her. He is 4 years older than she is. I secretly hoped they would reconnect one day in the future and fall in love and get married connecting our families. I kept this picture just in case we needed it for the wedding... (Mothers of daughters are a little crazy like that... always wondering and praying for their future husband). I know how special he is... I could see if even from a distance. I instantly fell for him that night... I pray peace finds you and yours. The world is a little less brighter now that you left, but heaven is shining bright.

My heart aches for his family and friends and for all of us whose lives Matt has touched. It is not for us to know the big picture of God's plan or to know why He chose to take Matt at such a young age. He was such a joy to have around at work. He always came in with a smiling face that I will never forget. He was definitely a servant-Leader. He always showed excitement and put forth energy into everything he did. He always made me laugh with all of our conversations we had. One thing is for sure I will miss this young man a ton and I know all of his coworkers and newly found grandparents (retired residents) will miss him dearly as well. My deepest part of my heart goes out to his parents, siblings and the rest of the family. I am so sorry for the pain you are feeling and I will be praying for all of you that God will give the peace you need and the hope that things will get better.

Matthew was so kind to everyone around him. He exuded love and compassion. We have many fond memories of him at church, his baptism and the utter joy that was on his face, how he made us laugh, and the care and loving kindness he showed to our daughter.
