We've been participants in many of the delightful Trips 'n' Tours offered by the Appleton, and were present at our first pre-trip meeting in the fall of 2016. From the introduction by TNT's Bonnie Jannsen and the length of applause which followed, we understood we were in the company of a very special lady, whose support of the Appleton was immeasurable. Yet, we remember how modestly she simply nodded to the group.
Her pre-trip phone calls were always welcomed as her upbeat voice was a day-brightener. But, the most memorable were the chats we had during some portion of a trip. Mary's enthusiasm was contagious as she explained some fact or history of an area or a related experience.
May we all be blessed with the joy of life we saw in her eyes and heard in that beautiful voice.
