Obituary of Michael Alex Drake

Michael Alex Drake, 48 of Ocala FL passed away on Sunday, June 2^nd at his home with his family and friends by his side. He was born in Livingston, NJ. Michael was a retired Marion County Firefighter /EMT for 25 years here in the Ocala area. He enjoyed working on jeeps and hot rods and collecting different firemen type collectables, and always living the dream of being a firemen and serving others. Michael is preceded in death by his father Michael B. Drake. He is survived by his mother Phyllis Drake of Ocala, FL., brother Robert Drake and his wife Ashley of Ocala, FL., nephew Hayden Drake and Addison Drake both of Ocala, FL. The family will be having calling hours at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd on Friday, June 7^th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00pm. Michael’s celebration of life service will be Saturday, June 8^th at 2:00 pm at the Church of the Springs, with the burial service with honors at Highland Memorial Park by the Marion County Fire Department Honor Guard. Donation in lieu of flowers can be made to the Cystic Fibrous Foundation in memory of Michael.
