Obituary of Donald Alan Miller

Donald Alan Miller, age 79, cherished husband of Carol (Tiny), went to sleep in the arms of our Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2019. Don was born on July 27, 1939 in Medina, NY. Don was a devoted husband, father, and Papa Duke to his grandchildren and great granddaughter.

Don is survived by his loving wife Carol of 58 years; daughter Tammy Maier (Ken); daughter Christine Guy (Greg). Don is survived by his grandchildren Krystle (Matthew) Shaffer, Kaitlyn Maier (husband Jonathan Goldstein); grandson Devyn Donald Guy; great granddaughter Keiryn Shaffer; several nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Marge and Harold Miller; brothers Gerry (Dot) Miller and Bob (Jeanne) Miller; sister in-law Doris Reimer-Brennan; niece Lynn Burkett; and nephew Mark Miller.

Friends and family were most important to him.  He loved being a part of the many interests and activities his daughters and grandchildren participated in.

Don had a gift for mentoring and encouraging others.  He was a man of his word, spoke with candor, but most importantly – always cared.

Don worked 30 years for IBM. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages. He loved golf, Mahjongg, cards, his Mets and Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed his life in The Villages for 21 years, an active, caring, FUN place - the perfect place for Don!

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 10:30 am, located at Hope Lutheran Church, 250 Avenida Los Angelos, The Villages, FL 32162.
