To Les’s wife and his entire family and friends:
I just read of Les’s passing; just sat there for a bit, rather stunned as the sad news sunk in.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss.
Les and I went to high school together at the Clearfield Area High School at Clearfield, Pennsylvania. He was a popular student having many friends who have many memories of him.
We had many of the same friends and thus some of the same experiences together. We even attended the same church; the West Side Methodist Church whose name became the West Side United Methodist Church while we were still in our high school years. It was a vastly different time than it is today.
After high school we lost touch, going our separate ways, but would still occasionally catch up a bit on each others lives when we both happened to be at our church in Clearfield, a small town of around 6,000 residents at the time and not very much larger now.
I recall a very pleasant lunch with Les and his parents at their home in the countryside just outside of Clearfield. Les had invited me out for a visit. I had a very friendly visit with his parents, who knew how to treat a young teenage guest to make him feel at ease.
