Obituary of Bert Scott

Bert Scott, 92 of Summerfield , FL. departed to his eternal home on April 28, 2019. Bert was a World War ll veteran serving on the U.S.S. Dawson in the Pacific. He worked as a mail carrier in Rockwood, TN and Belleview, FL. After retirement he remained active with travel, gardening, raising animals, and as a volunteer leading Bible studies in local and state prisons. He enjoyed visits from grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Shirley and five children, Judith Kindred (Gary) Elizabeth Mathis (James), Marian Norton (Donald), Curtis Scott, and Titus Scott (Dorothy).

He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents, Bert S. Scott and Eleanor Pederson Scott, a brother Jackie, one grandchild and a great grandchild.

A Celebration of Bert’s life will be held at Community Baptist Church, 9525 S.E. 156^th Place Summerfield, FL on Saturday, June 8.2019 at 2 p.m.
