Memories of Dad,
I loved reading my Brother's comments about our Dad. I also appreciate all that he did for Dad in the latter years of his Life as I know it was a lot of work and he took such good care of Dad.
I remember my Dad as the most giving person I have known. He would give the shirt off his back or the last penny he had to those in need. I remember how much he liked to read and study the Bible. He would head off to work with a carrying case from Pan Am that was loaded with as many Bibles (multiple versions) as he could fit in the case to study at every break/downtime he had. He loved to read and it kept his mind active all through the years.
I remember when he would preach how many people loved to hear him. I also remember how he kept everyone awake with his clapping when you least expected it. He loved Church and the people.
Growing up I loved going to football games with Dad. Both the professional games and our Family games with the Grandkids. He could be heard from all over cheering for his Family. I loved playing softball with Dad and he played into his 70's with the Family.
He was the best and I (we) will miss him dearly. How fitting that he went home on Mother's Day without any warning that he might be passing soon. He was ready and it was his time to see Mom again. He loved her more than anything and it showed.
With All Our Love,
David & Mary

Please accept my heartfelt condolences to your family. 1 Corinthians 15:25, 26 says "For he [Jesus] must rule as king until God has put all enemies under his feet. And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing". At Revelation 21:4 it says regarding Jehovah, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Finally, take courage in the hope of the resurrection promised at Acts 24:15 "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."

Just a little longer ...
I'm sorry for taking a couple days to speak about dad going home. I guess in my mind, somehow, I was keeping him with me just a little longer. I know …that’s selfish. What can I say. My life for quite a while has been to speak for my dad, especially in doctor offices, to fight for him, because of the condition he found himself in from a really bad automobile accident. Our trips to the VA Hospitals in Gainesville and Tampa were so much more than just doctor visits for us. They were outings for dad who started feeling like the beautiful assisted living facilities he and mom, because of necessity were living in, started feeling more like fancy prisons. For me those were great days. In the beginning dad and I left early getting breakfast together, doing what ever we had to do at the doctors, then singing praise and worship songs for an hour on our way back home. I loved seeing dad raising his arms, clapping, the special way he did, and thanking God in my heart for the beauty of the moment! The leaving early and eating came to an end as things for dad got harder but being with him and the special time worshiping and listening to our music never stopped. When times were bad and he couldn’t stay awake for conversation I would play music through his headset and sit with him. He loved hearing the 23 Psalm and would quote it with me as I read it to him. When we were coming back from the Tampa VA dad would point out that the Florida National Cemetery was at this exit. So on one of our trips dad and I got off I75 and visited the National Cemetery. Dad's plan was for both mom and him to be there together. I have been keeping mom's urn here in my house. So her memory has been here visibly for me to see and think of. I hadn't realized it but now that her and dad will be going together in a way I'm just feeling the lose of losing them both. You know when the Ark was at Obed-edom's house, his house was blessed by the Lord ...I'm just saying it was a blessing having mom's physical memory here. I'm going to miss seeing mom's urn, and the memories it instantly brought.
Then I think ...God answered our prayers, dad passed peacefully. We can only imagine what a wonderful greeting he had as mommy, grandma and grandpa Day, and so many other family members and friends surronded him. Then what it must have been like meeting our Lord and Saviour face to face. He is truly home and free from that awful treach. I am rejoicing with and for him today! ♡
After the Military ceremony at The Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell set for Friday June 7th, the next day, Saturday June 8th, family and friends will meet at my house in Summerfield. For a celebration of life party. Mom and dad held sings at their house, something the really enjoyed, so be ready to sing.
Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts, and especially your prayers.
God's Peace,
Much Love ♡

In Gods word the bible at Revelations 21:verses 3 and 4 God promises that there will be a time when death will be no more, neither pain nor outcry be anymore, let's look forward to that promise from our God's , I hope this scripture brings your family comfort.
