Mr. Pope and his family with the urging of Martha Karen gave me one of the most memorable days of my life. In 1969, they invited me to accompany them to the Stoneybrook Steeplechase where I learned why they shared such a passion for horses. It was a beautiful, sunny spring day filled with beautiful horses, a crowd dressed in their finest and topped with a picnic lunch. I regret that I did not thank them properly for such a splendid day.
My deepest sympathy goes out to Martha Karen and the family for the loss of such a kind, generous man. May God bless you.

My heartfelt sadness when hearing of Mr. Pope's passing. Y'all were wonderful neighbors to mom and dad and to us. My, how he could bake! I will never forget the passing of "goodies" between us. He is now in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ and with his loving family who have gone before. Karen, it was a pleasure to know you both and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our beautiful Karen as she says goodbye to her sweet and loving father. Know that our hearts are with you this weekend and always, Buzz was very touched that you included him in the listing of family, he loved your daddy so very much. We love you and look forward to seeing you soon.
