I learned at this late date of Pete's passing in April. I had the honor of serving with Pete at Hamilton AFB, California, flying OUR favorite mach 2 jet aircraft, the F-106 Delta Dart, We were all good pilots, but Pete was superb. He was a good friend after we both retired to Lakewood, Washington where we were members of our retired Air Force Breakfast Club, both officers and NCOs. Pete and Laverne moved from here to the Villages in Florida for the best reasons, to be near their grandchildren. We were sorry to see them leave us but understood their reason for going. We were so sorry to hear of Laverne's passing and now, Pete's. We are all growing older of course, but so many of our contemporaries, our flying comrades, are passing away in turn. So long, and good flying, old friend!

Dear Williams family,
I am very sorry for your loss. The Bible gives us a wonderful hope for the future. In Revelation 21:4 it says "He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore the former things have passed away."

I had the honor of flying with Pete in combat in the Vietnam War. He was an excellent fighter pilot - among a very critical bunch. He taught me and many other young Lieutenants what a role model really looks like. He was a quiet leader: confident, capable, encouraging. He mastered the ability to be a Boss AND a friend.
And he always had that friendly, welcoming smile!
Rest in Peace, my friend! I will miss you. And I will look forward to your greeting me at the Gates when my time comes to Fly West!

So sorry to hear of Pete's passing. Enjoyed many golf-related activities here at McChord's Whispering Firs golf course starting in 1987, others in WA/ID, and in Hawaii during annual Men's Club golf trip. Always a good roomie on trips, and helpful when I was recovering from first hip replacement surgery. Missed the golf and fellowship of Friday night beer calls once he and LaVerne moved to FL. Again my sympathy to the family on your loss.

I was so sorry to learn of Pete’s passing. I worked with him here at McChord AFB for several years, and occasionally joined him for a round of golf. He was a great leader and a real influence on my career. He leaves behind a lot of good memories among the Air Force community here. My warmest wishes to the family.

Farewell Sky Warrior…my combat comrade and friend. You served God and family with undying love and devotion, and your nation with fierce valor. Recall, “A man never dies till he is forgotten”. You will live on in family lore and be remembered and honored by those whose lives you influenced and enriched. We will feel your presence, embrace your wisdom, and recall your love, guidance, and assurance. May clear skies and strong tailwinds favor your flight West…. I look forward to our join up again…spinning our tales…laughing…and remembering. Throw a Nickel on the Grass…and Thunder on…..

I am Carolyn Bradley’s sister. I met Pete last year while visiting Carolyn. I instantly fell in love with this kind, loving gentleman. His love for my sister was very evident. They were totally smitten with each other. It was a great memory to take back to North Carolina.
One year later, I am back at my sister’s home but SO sadden by Pete’s passing. Knowing how he had struggled with so many health issues, I am thankful that he is at peace now.
My sister was blessed to have this devout Christian man in her life. I feel her grief!
What an honor and a blessing to have laughed with and enjoyed some of life’s good times with Pete!

I only know Colonel Williams as a proud loving father at his daughter Stace’s wedding. To know someone through their love is truly a gift
