Dear Susalla family,
I am very sorry for your loss. The Bible gives us a wonderful hope for the future. In Revelation 21:4 it says "He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore the former things have passed away."

I am so disheartened to learn that Len passed to the hands of Our Lord. I spent my greatest time in Legacy INS with Len at the Detroit Canada Tunnel from 1980 to 1984. I was a rookie and Len was ahead of me with Ron Ayers, Billy Mitchell, Tom Brownrigg, Stan Gilles, Steve Hurst and many others. These were the best days of my early career. Len was my mentor in every way. Exemplary, candid, knowledgeable, fair and professional. As a matter of fact, he always relieved me 5 minutes early on the line when the snow was two or three feet high. We parted and we met again on many occasions. He was the Area port Director in Jacksonville and I was the Area Port Director in Port Everglades. we would meet and talk about our families and our memories at Detroit with Tom Pritchard and John Bailey. My dearest friend Len: May the angels of Heaven come down and carry you to the gates of heaven so you can meet Our Savior and be in His eternal peace. The peace of Lord will always be with Patricia and your wonderful family. Amen

Hello. I am sorry for your loss. I met Len back in January of 2008. Wow, how time flies. I always spoke to him as Len or Mr. Susalla. Back in 2008, I was excited to be in the North Florida area (specifically Jacksonville and Palm Coast) for the first time. Len really put me at ease. He was a really great guy and boss. I am sorry I never saw him again after 2010. I wish him rest and peace.

Len was a kind and gentle man. He had such great love for his family and friends. Len had a sweet smile and a wonderful sense of humor. I will miss his phone calls to Helen, since I usually got a chance to talk to him about sports! Extra prayers Len for the Detroit Tigers!
