Obituary of Thomas Ray Marcum

Thomas Ray Marcum, age 82, of Ocala Florida, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 21st 2019. Thomas was born January 21, 1937 in Big Creek, Kentucky to the union of Arie Clark Marcum and Alexander Marcum. On April 7, 1956 Thomas married Marjorie Ann Roberts of Hima, Kentucky. They started their lives in Cincinnati, Ohio where Thomas was the owner of Marcum Trucking. In 1973, Thomas moved to Manchester, Kentucky where he started M&H Coal Company until he moved to Ocala, Florida in 1985. That same year he started Marcum Construction and ran it along side his wife Marjorie and son Douglas Marcum until 2012.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie. His daughter Cledia Ann Marcum Sizemore, his son Douglas Ray Marcum and wife Sandra of Ocala, and the following grandchildren; Thomas Randall Sizemore and wife Cheri, Amanda Marjorie Sizemore McClary and husband Beau, Alexandria Blaine Marcum Shives and husband Justin, and Rachael Victoria Marcum, all of Ocala. Also survived by four great grandchildren Thomas Randall Sizemore, Jr., Coy Randall Sizemore, Carter Ramsay McClary, and Bella Noelle McClary, and brother in law Delbert Roberts and wife Vanda of Manchester Kentucky, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Marietta Marcum Bishop, Edith Marcum New, and one infant sister.

Thomas “Pa” was a hard worker, loved going to the beach, spending time with his family, and helping with the churches Operation Compassion Ministry.

Visitation will be 5-8pm Thursday, March 28^th at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Ocala.  Funeral service will be 11:00am on Friday the 29^th at Wings of Faith Fellowship Church, 5066 SE 64^th Ave. Rd. in Ocala.  Entombment to follow at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wings of Faith Fellowship Operation Compassion or Heart of Florida Youth Ranch in Citra.
