Obituary of Janice Elaine Morse

Janice Elaine Morse passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2019, with her family and close friends at her side.  Jan is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Dr. Kenneth Morse and their two sons Kenneth (Molly) and Keith (Donna). She is also survived by six grandchildren; Hannah, Courtney, and Julia Morse, Allen Bacon, and Hazen and Madison Morse.  Jan grew up in Biloxi, MS and was educated at Perkinston Junior College and the University of Southern Mississippi where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education.  Jan loved sports and enjoyed tennis and golf with family and friends.  She also had an amazing singing voice and perfect-pitch harmony.  She loved to sing with friends and formerly sang with the Sweet Adalines and in choirs.  Musicians would pick up on her talents and invite her to join them.  Most importantly Jan was the most loving and supportive wife and mother.  She was the “Wind Beneath Our Wings,” always ready to let those she loved shine, never seeking the limelight for herself. She will be greatly missed.  A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala, 910 East Silver Springs Blvd.  There will be a gathering of family and friends one-half hour prior to the service.  Online condolences may be left at www.hiers-baxley.net.
