Obituary of Wilfredo A. Vergara

Wilfredo A. Vergara, 73, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 1908. Wilfredo was born in the Philippines and has lived in Ocala since 1997. Wilfredo graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration at the University of Nueva Caceres, Naga City, Philippines. He was a Mechanical Stores Clerk and worked at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York for 25 years . He received a service award from the State University of NY Health Science Center At Brooklyn (Facilities Management and Development). He retired at the age of 52. He was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and served for many years as an usher.

Wilfredo enjoyed playing guitar, singing, and exercising. He was a black belt in Judo and Karate and participated in tournaments. His love for Judo and Karate was passed on to his kids and wife.

Survivors include his wife Nenita Vergara of Ocala, son James Vergara, and daughter Aileen Vergara.

A funeral ceremony will be held at Blessed Trinity on Wednesday, February 6th at 5:30pm, viewing will be at 4:30pm. Wilfredo will be laid to rest privately at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala.
