Obituary of James Walter Anderson

James Walter Anderson, 88, of The Villages, Florida passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 27, 2019.  He was the husband of Jeanne Anderson for 67 years.

Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late Walter and Hazel Anderson. He was a Veteran in the Air Force during the Korean War era, earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and worked in Public Relations for over 20 years. The family relocated to Central Florida in 1973 where Jim became a University of Florida Professor of Public Relations for 20 years before retiring Emeritus. 

In 1997 Jim and Jeanne moved to Palo Alto in The Villages, Florida.  Jim was an avid golfer, artist and a member of the Lady Lake American Legion Post 347 and the Knights of Columbus.

Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Jeanne Anderson and their eight children, Thomas Anderson (Nancy), Patrick Anderson (Tori), Carol Nowak (Stas), Ginny Milu (Gregg), Willie Savoie, Terri Reid (Eddy), Jim Anderson Jr. (Cathy), and  Lori Aiosa (Doug), twenty one grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister, Carolyn AmRhein, brother, John Anderson, grandson Matthew Anderson and son-in-law Donald Savoie.

The family will gather with friends for a celebration of life on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 3 PM to 6 PM at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159.

Funeral Mass will be held at 8:30AM, Thursday, February 7 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in The Villages.  The inurnment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with Military Honors provided by Lady Lake American Legion Post 347.
