Obituary of Norman Lee DeNoon

Norman Lee DeNoon, Sr. 91, of Ocklawaha, Florida passed away December 28, 2018 at The Villages Hospice House, The Villages, Florida.  He was the husband of Willene DeNoon for 69 years.

 

He was born in Moundsville, West Virginia a son of the late Robert and Hazel DeNoon. Norman served our country for 30 years in the US Navy and held the rank of Commander.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belleview where he had served as a Deacon and was past Chairman of the Building Committee and taught Sunday School.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Willene by car.  He liked to tell jokes, read and work in his yard.

 

Norman is survived by his wife, Willene DeNoon; son, Norman Lee DeNoon Jr. and his wife Helena of Ocklawaha, FL and daughter, Deborah Davis and her husband Newel of Ocklawaha, FL, his grandchildren Tiffiny Grant, Sarah DeNoon, Norman Lee DeNoon, III and Brittany DeNoon.  He has 4 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by sisters, Elizabeth Boso of Moundsville, WV and Helen Wellman and her husband Sam of Davenport, FL,

 

He was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Jean Kimble and Vivian Wolfe.

 

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Belleview, Belleview, FL.  Inurnment will take place Friday, January 11, 2019 at 12:30 PM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with Military Honors provided by the US Navy.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778, would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview, FL 34420.  Condolences may be left at Hiers-Baxley.com.
