Obituary of Audrey Smith

Audrey Smith, 81, of Summerfield, Florida passed away December 11, 2018. She was born in Brooklyn, New York a daughter of the late William and Vivian (Makowski) Hecker. Audrey moved to Florida from Long Island, NY in 1980 and was the owner/operator of Audrey Smith Storage in Summerfield for 35 years. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Belleview.

Above all, family gave her the most enjoyment in life. She was most proud of her children and grandchildren. Audrey also enjoyed playing Bingo and going to fish fries with her lady-friends, solving crossword puzzles, and word games, including Scrabble.

She will be missed by her son, James “Jim” (Diane) Smith of Setauket, NY, her daughter, Vicki (Michael) Hesselbirg of Shirley, NY and her brother, William Hecker of Spring Hill, FL. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Smith and her son, David Smith.

The family will receive friends at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview, FL 34420 on Friday, December 14, between 2:00 and 4:00 PM.
