Obituary of Leonard Surdey
Leonard Surdey, 85, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Leonard was born in Joliet, IL to John and Mary Surdey. He moved to Ocala in 1994 from Manhattan, IL. He retired from AT&T and had served in the US Army, having served 15 months overseas in Germany. He was a member of City Light Church in Ocala. Leonard and his wife contributed much time to Operation Compassion. He was a handyman who could do it all.
Leonard is predeceased by his son Leonard Michael Surdey in 2007.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Charlene Surdey of Ocala, son Robert (Robin) Surdey of Arizona, daughter Lorie (Jeff) Burlison of Illinois, 5 grandchildren; Sean, Justin, Heather, Jason, and Erin, 4 great grandchildren; Jasmine, Marie, Candice, and Evon, and his brother Frank Cecil Surdey.
Mr. Surdey will be buried in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
