Obituary of James L. Dever

James L. Dever, 91, of Lady Lake, FL, formerly of North Attleboro and Needham MA, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Holychuk) Dever.  Born in Boston, MA on May 21, 1927, he was the son of John and Margaret (Murphy) Dever and had seven siblings. Jim served in the US Navy during WWII. After his military service he attended Boston College and earned a degree in Physics. After graduation he was employed by the Bureau of Standards and Practices in Washington DC where he also met his wife Elizabeth. He returned to MA to work for United Electric Controls Co. in Watertown until retirement in 1992.  Jim was an avid reader, golfer, and loyal Boston sports fan.

He is survived by his wife; daughter Elizabeth Ann Sturdy and husband Raymond; sons James R. Dever and wife Reiko, and Sean M. Dever; brother Robert Dever; sister Sally Gabrielle; grandchildren Raymond, Brittany and Jimmy; great grandchild Amelia.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St Timothy Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, The Villages, FL 32159 on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 8:30am. Private inurnment with military honors will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11am.
