Obituary of Kay Lingenfelter
Kay Lingenfelter, age 80, of The Villages, FL passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018. She was born in Monticello, IN on June 23, 1938. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956. It was here that she met Al Lingenfelter, her high school sweetheart. They married two years after graduation and began traveling with the United States Marine Corps for 21 years.
They returned to Monticello, IN in 1977 where she began her career as a Dental Hygienist for Dr. L. Abbott, DDS. In 2004 she and Al built a home in The Villages and moved here in June of 2004. Kay was a member of Fairway Christian Church. She enjoyed scrapbooking, coloring ornaments to donate to local nursing homes for Christmas decorations and spending time with her family and neighbors.
She is remembered with love by her daughters Nancy (Mark) Statham, Anita Lingenfelter, and Melissa (Scott) Lee; grandchildren Ben, Elizabeth, Caleb, Kyle, Shelby; and her beloved dog Max; sister Tish Surber; brothers Steve and Dave Parrish. She is also proceeded in death by her beloved husband Aldie Lingenfelter III; grandson Alonzo Haskett; and brother Herb Parrish.
Celebration of Life will be held Monday, November 26, 2018 10:00 AM at HIERS-BAXLEY Funeral & Cremation Life Event Center, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162. Inurnment will be with her beloved late husband at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers the family recommends donations may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN. Sentiments may be left online at www.hiers-baxley.com.
